CALVERT TREE FARMS
During the Christmas season we have 3 buying locations open to customers. We have U-Cut available at our farm as well as 2 pre cut lots in Woodstock and St. Thomas.
White Spruce
White spruce trees are a blue/green coloured tree that is perfect for hanging ornaments. They have short needles that have a good natural shape to them, allowing for good needle retention compared to other spruce species.
Colorado Blue Spruce
Colorado blue spruce trees are a blue/gray colour with short sharp needles. They often have good natural symmetrical form with good needle retention.
Balsam & Fraser Firs
Balsam and Fraser fir trees are quite similar although the geographic ranges are different. Fraser and Balsam fir trees are a dark green colour and have branches that turn slightly upward with rather flat needles. This provides great needle retention for ornamental Christmas Trees. They have a pleasant scent and are softer to the touch than some spruce trees.
Retail Lots
Our retail lots are located at:
295 Wellington St, St. Thomas, ON N5R 2S6 (in the Home Hardware parking lot)
853 Dundas St, Woodstock, ON N4S 1G5 (in Bartley's Dairy Bar parking lot)
Retail lots feature pre cut trees that are opened up and put on display for customers to come and choose their perfect Christmas tree. We have had our retail lots open for over 45 years and offer a variety of breeds depending on demand for the year.
Retail lots are cash only, have free trimming on site and assistance loading your tree.
U - Cut
U-Cut allows customers to come visit our farm during the day to walk or drive the fields and then choose and cut down their own tree. The farm is located at 4680 Norfolk County Hwy 59S, Courtland, ON N0J 1E0.
The farm has over 85 acres of trees to choose from that range from 5' - 12' or custom cut for small or extra large orders. Each family is provided with a hand saw to cut their tree that they return before leaving.
The U-Cut is also cash only and has tree bailing available for an additional charge. There is also an open fire for customers to keep warm.
The farm is a pet friendly location so we encourage you to bring the whole family. It's a great place to not only find an amazing Christmas tree but also to take in the view and wildlife in the area.
